X2! Overall 9/10.

Potent, will probably put you to sleep: “if searching for a strain to counter insomnia you’ve found the right one 100%”, a nice 60% indica-body with an underlying cerebral that’s happy-euphoric, feels like a 60:50 or 50:50. If you don’t like a sleepy-indica this isn’t for you. This’ll add a calmness+happiness to your day, mentally or physically but almost certainly physically.

I’m a fan of this strain but not overly which is a little hard to describe – it’s like seeing a good movie but not needing to see it again, probably just because it’s a hybrid. It put my ass to sleep a few times and I’ve been smoking over 10 years. The name makes it sound gimmicky in my opinion but this strain is a bit of a hybrid slash indica-leaning hammer. A lighter hammer though, not a sledge. A sledge would be their Shishkaberry. The enticing parts of Black Diamond are thankfully the looks & effects and I would argue the smell. The buds are caked even on the outside in spots so they truly have a “diamond” essence [a caking of short/fat trichomes inside] and the smell although not way-wafty nor does it have any kind of unique profile to make itself stand out much – F that noise because it is entirely *rich* and full bodied with this musky-earth “red-wine” dark-floweryness similar to something like a dark cherry but it’s like people couldn’t describe it much past that so they put “sweet & earthy” on Leafly to generalize it… but it rocks. What Death Punch calls “bland” I need to agree and disagree; it’s not a citrus or a pine or diesel or even a mild berry – but with what it does have – sweet earthy richness – it’s better than anything else that’s also in the “bland” category. Actually it is a little “pungent” [what I call “rich”] but the profile itself almost doesn’t allow for it to be noticed as being gassy as the overall nose is deep/dark. The sweetness of this is very noticed and it fades into a diesel-chem smell, there’s a hint of it in the sweet. Again, hard to describe. “Best of the bland” doesn’t exactly do it justice, you’ll have to take a whiff for yourself to see that something known as being bland is yet not boring, weak-or-lacking in smell but the opposite. “It’s a damn conundrum, ya’ll! It’s a damn conundrum!” [Hopefully you’ve seen the movie Popstar: Never Stop Stopping]. It tastes “better” than it smells; even deeper like your taste buds weren’t getting all the terpenes through only an inhale. I almost never note taste but it was gooooood.

Nice sized buds that are well trimmed that aren’t leafy/stemy. I got an oz and it was awesome and “not just for the price” at $120/oz, I’m not basing this on its price at all. Their description is super accurate. It was cheap and it said “clean, strong high” so I got it, I was having a hard time deciding. It’s a 60% indica that feels like it. The high is just as Leafly says: happy-relaxed-sleepy-tingly-hungry. I was smoking a sativa in the day and come night time I had actually fallen asleep with my head in my hand early in the evening and as I went to fall over I jolted myself awake with a yell… because I had smoked a bunch. This stuff puts you to sleep after like ~40 minutes you won’t stand a chance, you’ll at the least yawn a lot. It doesn’t mess with your thoughts or mood to make you sleepy, some strains make you sleepy by sending you to warp speed with a cerebral while this just does it on its own in the background. It gives a nice, relaxing and uplifting cerebral with a hint of distortion but with a classic indica profile overall. Actually it’s similar to Grape God which is also a 60% hybrid IIRC that’s relaxing-happy or happy-relaxing. Well, between $120 for this and $175 for their Grape God you’ve got two great options with very similar effect profiles for something that’s probably best used recreationally but if searching for a strain to counter insomnia you’ve found the right strain 100%. It’s a bit harsh but I smoke huge bowls in a bong and by harsh I mean not really. It’s not from leaf, there’s basically no visible leaf even after being ground up but I’m not sure if it’s from kief either but probably because there’s lots of kief. In my whole oz – 1 fat seed. Thanks, cuz I’m gonna try to grow it.
