OVERALL initially was 4.95/5 and will most likely increase slightly as I enjoy it more

This is one of three beasts that make up a trio like a hardcore metal band only consisting of the bare bones of a drummer, bassist and guitarist but it’s most similar to Platinum Purple Kush… just with more upliftment, the PPK having more euphoria. BOTH make you happy. BOTH have similar visual. BOTH… you get the idea. Depression: PPK. PTSD: Gelato 33. Strong but clear, needing to do stuff: LA Kush Cake. Both PTSD and depression and shit but you don’t mind a lil’ paranoia and a nap after: Ice Cream Cake – my fuck is it stellar. There you have it! Gelato 33 is great, I would have a hard time deciding if I didn’t know what I was doing now. Gelatos’ presence in body & visual is equal to PPK and LA Kush Cake. I’d say that LA Kush Cake’s overall presence feels stronger because it’s so clear-headed that you end up being super-noting of any effects at all so they stand out lots. Perspective! PPK is $140 and I just think it’s for every single pot smoker ever.

Sunset Sherbet X Thin Mint GSC and I haven’t had either of those, nor seen them. I thought it was Cookie Fam but it’s actually bred by Eco Firma Farms! Damnit. Crossing this Gelato with LA Kush Cake creates Ice Cream Cake – the most bad ass of the trio of LA Kush Cake/Gelato/Ice Cream Cake on WD. Now that I’ve had all three I have a very clear idea on how they differ and how you’d take advantage of each’s effects.

EFFECT———————————————————————————————————

They’re in near equal amounts. Actually I can attribute that to there only being 65 reviews for it on Leafly (WTF?! BLOW UP ALREADY). You’ve got a fucktillion reviews on strains from bumfuck nowhere from 15 years ago but haven’t reviewed THIS in the thousands? I haven’t smoked yet but I’m so dazed from not sleeping the night before, I can’t even remember if it’s AM or PM and I feel all weird when I remember it’s not 8AM but 8PM. I miss that Platinum Purple Kush to be honest. This is so damn similar to that, I was even getting it confused with LA Kush Cake which is super clear headed. This is uplifting and slightly euphoric, just enough euphoria to show you that it’s there and the rest is happiness-upliftment-emotional release and contentment.

I’m tired, I’m burnt, I’ve got coffee on coffee, I took my pills, had waffles, let’s fucking do this.

1 bowl down. It kicks in lightly after 30 seconds, increasing in intensity as I type this – it felt so weird to stop and notice it getting stronger by the second until 2 minutes passed. I had to sit and wait. I feel really good now. First thing I notice is my mood is better, my thoughts were quieted. It’s definitely potent and the upliftment is pretty intense, euphoria in good quantity too. I’m listening to music and feel like I’m really into it, drumming on my legs [HEDpe thanks for asking]. I feel happy and uplifted and calm. Wow, what a difference from 5 minutes ago in how I feel. Big smile on my face. I only had 2 bowls last night and 1 this morning, an excellent way to wake up (this tops Maui Wowie & Pineapple Express for wake n bake which are like $110, though). I don’t care if this isn’t bred by Cookie Fam, it’s made with Cookie Fams’ actual genetics so I’m going to take you back to my glorious people at a wedding analogy I used for LA Kush Cakes’ review to compare these three beasts…

Which of the 4 available Cookie Fam Genetics [or 1 cross of] strains from WD do you want? There’s La Kush Cake, Ice Cream Cake, Gelato 33 and Orange Sherbet (I’ll even throw in Platinum Purple Kush to compare to Ice Cream Cake).

A wedding is a perfect situational basis; if Ice Cream Cake is the wacky and lovable aunt who made the best speech but really only showed up to get hammered and have a good time only to later spill her drink on someone, fall and then sleep where she lay but then get back up in 2 hours to keep going than LA Kush Cake is the fun professional DJ who kept the night together amid the chaos – they weren’t allowed to drink but they had their own fun smoking weed. Both were big hits but comparably one stayed awake while having a shorter required time span to perform and the other went all out and gave it everything till dawn or until she’d nap again. The aunt was happier; the DJ more clear headed. Gelato represents all the normal people who went to the wedding to have a good time. They were uplifted, a little euphoric, everyone happy to be there just to see the miracle, all buzzed but not going crazy – so by adding them + the DJ you get the wacky aunt. Seems legit given how insane Ice Cream Cake is. Orange Sherbet would represent the kids – not quite as potent but offers a trip down memory lane with a heavy body leading to physical relaxation – kids are tiring. The kids obviously weren’t intoxicated past sugar but were happy and uplifted none the less. Platinum Purple Kush is the wedding crasher: a lot like the wacky aunt but tried to keep a lower key.

In order of potency:

–Orange Sherbet – uplifting, a little euphoric, more body than Gelato.

–Gelato – the most uplifting of the bunch, a little euphoric.

–Platinum Purple Kush – it’s like Ice Cream Cake without the side effects. If this is heavy than Ice Cream Cake is just heavier – PPK is amazing for depression.

–LA Kush Cake, ever so strong but ever so clear headed, no paranoia or burn out, not uplifting but more so euphoric, LAKC doesn’t change “you”, just makes you real fuckin’ high: good for PTSD or being out n’ about.

–Ice Cream Cake – total euphoria followed by upliftment, giggle, freak out, crash and sleep strain. My favourite: amazing for depression.

My three picks are LA Kush Cake for doing things and being outside of home or Ice Cream Cake for being at home, closely followed by PPK (and is the best bang for buck here if not Ice Cream Cake). Gelato offers more upliftment with a euphoric hint and I felt quite happy on it. Platinum Purple Kush is much like Ice Cream Cake but less insane – it’s a pure indica vs ICC’s 75% indica. Makes sense. Happy levels between them all are near equal but Gelato stood out per its upliftment while PPK and ICC were just my kind of euphoric feels (which equates to happiness for me for Gelato should do that better in general). LAKC is a beast along with ICC, they’re just [felt] different for good reason – Ice Cream Cake might be too strong for even a moderate smoker. Now you should have a clear idea of what to buy between those 5!

SMELL———————————————————————————————————-

K. So. Interesting nose because it threw me off and I don’t even dig it but I couldn’t stop taking a whiff. It’s pungent alright; and easily the worst profile ever. When they say citrus-earthy-pungent what they really mean is the full bitterness of a big ass grapefruit sprinkled with earth-dirt and then concentrated. As I switch back and fourth between this and Orange Sherbet it smells more like Tuna Hamburger Helper. Not a nice nose when comparing lol but not so bad when not. After leaving them and coming back it seems more weedy, again bitterness+earth, hold the Hamburger Helper, I really want to say it smells like grass but I can’t because it buckles into the bitterness too fast. Grass-like if it weren’t for its dominant “dark citrus”. I’m not even looking forward to grinding it up hahahaha. I have literally never had a strain that I have not liked smelling. It’s not the worst smell in the world or anything – it’s just the worlds worst profile of weed. That’s just my opinion but in terms of “edibility” if I handed you a halved grapefruit that you just saw me rub in finely ground dirt would you find it appetizing? Honestly I expected some kind of Italian ice cream flavouring lol! It’s like smelling bacon & pickle juice. One is debatably great [bacon/grapefruit]; the other is… probably nobody enjoys that but it has a vinegary tang that we’re all used to in things from bruschetta topping to french fries but neither of these belong together. As I come back to this 6 hours later I am instead able to now appreciate it as I’ve ground it up, it has taken a different shape similar to fresh cut lawn grass or a flowery scent. Leafly says citrus-earthy-pungent. Yup. I still don’t like it that much hahahahaha. Again it’s not bad, just way different.

I’m instead completely excited to try its uplifty effect which is very closely following the top effect of happy which I really need right now. So is relaxed and euphoric with focused not far behind at the even-high 60% mark! It’s a really potent strain that offers pretty intense happy-upliftment with a little euphoria.

QUAD, BABY! Taste… like how it smells, I’m guessing. Minimal cough for the potency. I felt trichomes flick my throat and then settle down. Easily smooth and smokeable ++.
